Born in Madrid, Isabel enjoys an international career as violist in chamber and orchestral music, both in modern and historical performance practice settings.

Isabel combines her regular appearances with leading spanish historical groups like Concerto 1700, Nereydas, Forma Antiqva, Tiento Nuovo, L’ Apothèose, or in Portugal, Orquesta Barroca Casa Da Música (Oporto); with modern projects with Orquesta de Cámara “Andrés Segovia”, the 2 viola Dúo Iris or even opening her boundaries to indie music, collaborating with American singer-songwriter David Burnett.

She had the pleasure of playing solo for the Spanish Embassy in Rome, in Casa Cervantes of Valladolid as part of MusaE cycle, and many times inside the summer festival "Clásicos en Verano" of Comunidad de Madrid. Wanting to share music with the future generations, she is also teaching at the American School of Madrid.

Previously she was a substitute of the National Orchestra of Spain, the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, Holland Baroque, Al Ayre Español and Ensemble Diderot. A big fan of chamber music, she was a co-founder of several groups like Intercontinental Ensemble or Cuarteto Bauhaus, with whom she was involved in big productions with the Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico and Teatro Español, and offered recitals in the cycles of FIAS or Juventudes Musicales de España, among others.

Isabel toured within whole Europe as principal violist in the EUBO 2015/2016 under the direction of Lars Ulrik Mortensen and Rachel Podger. In 2014 she was also selected as principal for the Pacific Music Festival (Japan) working closely with several members of the MET Opera Orchestra and the Vienna and Berliner Philharmoniker. She was an academist of the Dutch contemporary music ensemble ASKO/Schönberg in 2012, and a member of Youth Orchestras like JONC, JORCAM or IRO.

She gave masterclasses at the University of Low California (Mexico) and Fundación Música Maestro. As well, she participated in the Dutch social program Muziek in Huis and has been artist in residence 2012 of Art Center “La Rectoria”.

Isabel began her musical education in her hometown with Adolfo Hontañón and after went to Barcelona to study in the ESMuC with Jonathan Brown and the Cuarteto Casals. With the kind support of the AIE (Spanish Association of Performers), she finished her Masters in Performance at the Conservatory of Amsterdam having studied in the class of Marjolein Dispa and Jürgen Kussmaul. Also, she received the advice of Anner Bylsma, Sigiswald Kuijken, Thomas Riebl, Antonello Farulli, Nobuko Imai, Enrique Santiago, Richard Egarr, Hariolf Schlichtig, Silvia Simionescu and Enrico Onofri, and in chamber music, of the members of Belcea, Quiroga, Endellion, Artemis and Alban Berg quartets. She has followed some teaching programs given by pedagogues like Mimi Zweig and Wiesje Miedema.

Besides her musical education, she holds a bachelor degree in Classical Philology and a master in Musicology. Isabel Juárez plays on a beautiful viola of 1820, attributed to the viennese luthier Martin Stoss and bows by Pieter Affourtit, Basil de Visser and John Matthews.
